Stavros Niarchos FCC
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center is the new landmark of Athens, a monumental building designed by the renowned architect Renzo Piano, housing both the National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera.
SCAN undertook in 2017 the time sensitive and complex task of creating the Center’s parking space. The final project was delivered in time, with a fully automated parking lot, of 4 independent areas with a total of 968 spaces, 14 entry/exit points, 7 automatic payment terminals and a manual cashier’s booth, registration plate recognition, occupancy signs and central management (a solution by Scheidt & Bachmann).
The system is able to handle a multitude of demands (from VIP parking to member’s discounts) and is already coping successfully with the increased load during performance hours, assisting thousands of eager guests and spectators, in one of the most spectacular venues of Athens.
